Did you solve the Halloween mini crossword? All of my clues are sourced from Wikipedia. I'd also like to recommend The Book of Hallowe'en, which is available in the public domain. This month, I had some solo fun, traveling to Las Vegas to attend Author Nation, a conference for indie authors, for the very first time. Then, I volunteered at Author Nation's companion event, Reader Nation, a book-signing day for readers. Both events were informative, with friendly vibes from a tight-knit and incredibly energized community. It was both encouraging and a little overwhelming to see so many attendees who all seemed to know each other already and could carry endless, eloquent conversations about their established author careers.

A shout-out to my friend and fellow author Carol who happens to also be in this email loop ❀️ She made me a necklace and gifted it to me when we met in real life for the first time this week! Carol is prolific across many genres, and her recent children’s book can be found on Kickstarter. Give her project some love if you feel like it!

On a sadder note, bestselling crime-thriller author James Patterson couldn't attend Reader Nation due to health issues, but he still soldiered on and delivered his remarks over Zoom for our Author Nation closing event. His humor, quick wit, and industry experience were very inspiring to listen to. Let's wish him a speedy recovery!
